Concerns For Certain Phillies Talent (PST Episode 531)

The Philadelphia Phillies are on pace to make the playoffs and postseason, but there are certainly some concerns about what we’ll see from various players on this team. We dove into a few of those concerns this week with Justin Klugh (@Justin_Klugh on Twitter) from Baseball Prospectus and the Hittin’ Season podcast. It was a fun and entertaining discussion with Justin as always!

But first, the guys discussed and reflected on week 1 in the NFL with a bunch of storylines that brings us back to that top from our Table Talk show: is this going to be the year of the defense? (approx. 10:20)

We then talked Aaron Rodgers’ injury, and what it means to the NFL season overall as one of the biggest storyline we were all hoping to follow. (approx. 17:45)

We also intertwined some listener feedback with stolen bases in MLB this season, which was an interesting discussion. (approx. 28:15)

From there, we spoke to Joe DeLeone (@joedeleone on Twitter) from the Bleav Podcast Network about this early college football season: SEC vs. Big Ten, Colorado, vulnerable top-10 teams, and more! (approx. 39:50)

What we threw down on the Table this week was a great discussion with Justin Klugh from Baseball Prospectus and the Hittin’ Season podcast about this Phillies team. hat does Kyle Schwarber's plate appearances mean to the team from here on out? What does this team need from Nick Castellanos at the plate as we're looking toward this postseason? Thoughts on Aaron Nola as he continues to define his legacy in red pinstripes. And much more this week on the Table! (approx. 55:40)
