Eagles vs. Lions Postgame, Week 1, 2022

Week 1 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2022-2023 season is now in the books! The Birds went into Detroit and beat the Lions by a score of 38-35. They're now 1-0 in the NFC East division.

Defensive instability was a major theme of this game as well as how prepared this team overall was for this first game of the season. The Eagles defense, full of talent, only let the Lions convert 2 for 6 3rd downs in the first half, and then allowed 7 for 8 in the second half. This game came down to the wire due to a lot of defensive inconsistencies.

While Jalen Hurts had impressive numbers on the ground and through the air, there are still questions about his processing and pocket management. Thankfully, the Eagles have a true No. 1 wide receiver in A.J. Brown who caught 10 balls for 155 yards.

As always, we gave our takeaways and graded the units and coaches.
